New Thinknum Dataset: Patent Grants

Research and development can be an important driver of long-term corporate fortunes, as it spurs innovation and invention and can drive productivity and product differentiation. Our just-released Patent Grants dataset allows investors to proxy for companies' R&D investments over time, by tracking patent grants at major corporations going back to 2005. Use it to analyze the number of patents granted and the number of claims filed, or look at the text of patent titles, descriptions, abstracts and claims.
